One Memphis will be spotlighting the world-class eclectic music within our many congregations and religions for the purpose of unifying people of faith and to help unify our city as a whole. The end goal is A City in Harmony. Taking place once a month on Sundays from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Handy Park Pavilion on world-famous Beale Street. One Memphis will be bringing together our city’s incredible talents from our diverse faiths in a celebration of the language that unites us like no other can – music. And what better location than on one of the most “holy” places for music lovers. One Memphis will begin in April and continue through October. Confirmed dates are April 8, May 20, June 24, July 29, Sept. 30, Oct. 28. There will also be food concessions available in the park, activities for families, opportunity to sing in the One Memphis Choir, and much more. Plan to come early or stay late to enjoy the wonderful food and gift shops up and down Beale Street.
One Memphis is partnering with a new initiative here in Memphis called Perfect Harmony. Perfect Harmony's vision is to work together with its partners to reduce the crime and recidivism rates, as well as, improve the relationship between law enforcement and the community. This will be accomplished through music with respect to providing educational and employment opportunities. One Memphis will showcase Perfect Harmony at each monthly gathering and will encourage people to find out how they can get involved with Perfect Harmony.
So come participate and hear what a city in harmony sounds like and looks like!
